More Great Service!

This must be my week for finding good service. There are two companies I want to tell you about that know what great service is all about. The first company is a restaurant called Raymond's Hong Kong Cafe.

When I first walked in I was greeted warmly and shown to my seat. Then the manager came to my table and took my drink order and asked if I had been there before. She asked how I found out about the restaurant and was very excited to tell me a little of the history and the types of food they serve on their menu. This was a wonderful interaction and I felt like I was the only customer in the restaurant, even though it was very busy. The server that took our order and brought our food was on " the money" with good service. She new when to bring more water, when we were through with our soup and when to bring the entree. The food was made with fresh ingredients and very good. When we left the manager engaged with us again, gave myself and my business associate a take out menu and thanked us for coming. The great customer service I received today at this restaurant made my day! I will not only eat there because the food was great, but I will continue to go back because of the high quality of service I received. I thoroughly enjoyed the experience and the staff at Raymond's Hong Kong Cafe! Great Service, Great ingredients, Great Recipes & a Great idea. Sound the Horn for Great Service!!!!

Today I would like to "Toot the Horn" for a wonderful customer service experience I had yesterday.

I met a service company out at my client's house yesterday and they were absolutely awesome! They arrived 15 minutes early armed ready to provide high quality service. I must say a high quality service is exactly what I experienced. The service was Pest Control and the outstanding provider was ScherZinger Pest Control.

The service representative that came out to provide the Pest Service was Russ. Russ made my day. He took the time to listen to my needs, saw what needed to be done and definitely went above and beyond to provide the best pest control service I have ever experienced. This pest control service did more than I had expected and it was at an affordable price.

Not only did I get a great quality service I could also see that Russ was happy to represent his company SherZinger. He had wonderful things to say about his company and the products that they used. It was truly wonderful to see someone who enjoyed his profession, who respected his employer's integrity and who know how to provide the ultimate service experience.

How to Improve your Service Experience

At The Essential Helper we consistently here of poor service our clients receive from other companies that they do business with. We decided to empower our clients, blog readers and anyone interested with a few powerful steps that could help you have a better service experience. We are not guaranteeing in way shape or form this is going to be the perfect experience, but it can help make your experience better.

  1. Greet the customer service Representative doing this can one little gesture can make a huge difference in the service exchange. It will make the Representative feel like someone cares how their day is going and they will be more inclined to listen to your needs and provide you with good service.

  2. Take Note: I always tell my clients ask for the full name of customer services Representative you are speaking too. Write down the date, time and the issue you spoke about. This important if you are speaking over the phone or in person. If there is an issue with the way the service requested was provided, you can always pull out this information which will make it easier for the next service Representative to help you. This will also help you know and understand the type of service you are getting and when it will be completed for your records.

  3. Go up the ladder: If in the first two minutes of your conversation you do not feel like you are getting the service you desire do not hesitate to move up to the next person in charge. I can't tell you how many times I am on the phone with a customer service rep. and I just get the feeling they are not getting what I'm saying. I immediately ask for their supervisor. There is no sense in wasting time trying to explain an issue to someone that does not have the power to change the outcome. If the supervisor can not help keep on going up the ladder.

  4. Stay calm: It is always easier to get a request accomplished if you are calm and polite. Companies now are giving their employees the right to hang up on customers who call in screaming, cursing and irate. Even if it is a mistake made by the company try and call when you can be calm over the issue or you may never be able to get an issue resolved. I know this seems unfair, but it's just the way it is.

  5. Call in a third party: Sometimes we can get to emotionally involved with an issue. It may help if you have someone to call on your behalf. Sometimes when you release control and allow a third person/party to help you resolve the issue things can get accomplished quickly and you do not have to end up with high blood pressure by the time your through with the service company. The Third party should be an advocate that you trust to act in your best interest and one that is knowledgeable about working with service companies.
